Research Andrew’s research examines the relationship between public, private, and nonprofit organizations who come together in multi-sector social partnerships take on grand challenges. Andrew is particularly interested in how cross-sector social partnerships are established, managed, and led, as they tackle the world’s grand challenges—even when the fundamental objectives of the various partners are completely different. His research uses actor-network theory and semiotics to examine these unique relationships. Moreover, this holistic approach, which includes perspectives from the corporate sponsors, the nonprofits, as well as the governments, triangulates how the actors in these atypical organizations co-create the critical direction, alignment, and commitment needed to impact today’s grand challenges.
